From a Sicilian Table to the Heart of Modern Medicine

“I grew up in Sicily, where food, family, and care were everything. That is where my love story with the heart began”.

In my family, meals were not just about eating – they were about connection. We would sit around the table for hours, talking, laughing, and sharing stories. This is where I learned that the heart is not merely an organ that keeps us alive; it is the centre of who we are. It is where love, compassion, and togetherness live.

Medicine took me far from that Sicilian table – first to Milan, then New York, and finally to London’s Harley Street. Each city shaped me in its own way, teaching me science, precision, and the importance of excellence in care. I learned that the best medicine is never just about treating disease. It is about preventing it and helping people live longer, fuller, and more meaningful lives. 

Then I met Audrey Elena, the woman who would become my wife. As a nutritionist, she brought a more holistic, functional understanding of health that felt new to someone trained in the classical medical tradition. Through her insight, I was opened to a more preventive and functional approach to healing.

That shift led me to establish specialist clinics in London focused on preventive cardiology and functional medicine. We combine modern medicine with a focus on prevention, lifestyle, and nutrition, where every patient is seen as a whole person – body, mind, and heart.
